The Coffee Daily Again
Yes. It’s true. Brunch is now served at The Coffee Daily. We were told that The Mbassadors would be the first to feature their new menu. Many thanks guys! Check out our previous article on The Coffee Daily HERE!!!
Before we dig in, do take note of their brunch hours:
Weekdays – 12pm to 4pm
Weekends – 9.30am to 4pm
They’ll be having a dinner menu real soon so hang on for that!
Tuna Tartare Toast, $13
BANG! For the portion you’re getting, thirteen dollars is a great deal! Just look at the size of this baby. I love the fact that all the ingredients were really fresh. The poached egg sealed the deal for me with respect to this dish. The feeling of satisfaction when the egg yolk bursts when you dip the sourdough toast in its nucleus is unexplainable. You have to try it for yourself to know.
Taste wise, we’ve got nice rich creamy notes from the avocado, egg yolk and tuna paired with the strong, acidic bite of the shallots and dash of lemon. The cucumbers (not just any cucumbers but Japanese ones… fancy) give a nice crunch to the overall mushylicious (of course I made that word up) dish.
Salmon & Guac Toast, $15
Hands down, this is the best dish in The Coffee Daily’s brunch menu. The amount of freshly smashed guac used for this dish is awesome and their generosity pays off tremendously. I initially thought they added cheese to this dish but the slightly sour and creamy texture was from the guac!
When I witnessed the preparation of this dish, I felt that the torching of the smoked salmon was a novelty thing but it gives a bitter after taste to the otherwise salty smoked salmon. Rather than fighting one another for superiority, this dish is a perfect mash up of flavors that serve to complement one another.
The Big Daily, $18
Think Macdonald’s Big Breakfast but on steroids. The highlight of this dish would be the huge Pork Bockwurst sausage that comes along with this dish. I’m really sad that there’s only one of those sausages though.
If you’re watching that waist line, this dish packs a heap loads of calories but it’s so worth it! I think I’ve eaten enough eggs for the day. Time to work out!
Dinner menu coming soon!
